I am a woven textile designer based in Glasgow, specialising in silk scarves, rugs, and interior fabrics. My silk scarves are designed in my studio and woven in a traditional English mill, while my rugs and interior textiles are handwoven on my loom. My practice combines my passion for weaving, vibrant colour, architecture, and geometry. With a mathematician's eye for pattern, I enjoy developing innovative weave structures inspired by my research and drawings. Originally from Karachi, my work is deeply influenced by the city's rich visual culture. The colourful Pakistani trucks, with their bold geometric patterns, and the colonial architecture of the old city inspire my designs. I translate these contrasting elements into woven textiles that balance vivid colour with earthy tones, celebrating the energy, rhythm, and architectural beauty of my hometown.
